Business Continuity Plan
Evergreen Investments is dedicated to ensuring that we respond reasonably, promptly and effectively to events in order to meet our clients' needs in times of emergency.
The primary goal of Evergreen Investments' Business Continuity Plan is to ensure that critical business practices can continue immediately following the declaration of a disaster. The Plan defines critical functions, staff assignments, resource requirements, vital records, and alternate work site locations related to restoring business operations with minimal impact. To facilitate the achievement of this goal, Evergreen continuously maintains the alternate work sites and a backup data center which functions as our Disaster Recovery site.
The alternate sites are equipped to support the business processes that have been categorized as activities that are mission critical to our core business and/or are required to meet regulatory obligations. Once we identify a business process as mission critical, we document the applications, the information and the tools needed to perform the activity. This detail is stored in the Business Continuity Plan recorded at the business unit level.
Evergreen maintains dedicated alternate work sites for our two major office locations (Boston and Charlotte). These sites are far enough away to support our business should we experience a wide area disaster, but close enough for us to quickly relocate staff. Office supplies and equipment, along with forms and written instructions, are kept on site for use in an emergency. The Boston alternate work location is also Evergreen's Disaster Recovery site. We run dedicated lines from this location to our major system providers, and we have Internet connectivity available for Internet based applications and VPN connectivity to the network.
To ensure confidence in our Business Continuity Plan, we conduct a number of tests each year. We execute our emergency notification procedures, review and update the business impact analysis reports for each business unit, and perform the mission critical processes at the Disaster Recovery site on an annual basis. The Evergreen technology team activates all of the hardware and software at the Disaster Recovery site at least twice a year, and more often if major changes have been made to the primary data center.
